Thread: FFA and Corp. of Engineers Crappie Condo Project

I have sent the waypoint to all who have PM'ed me up to this point. If you've sent me a message and I haven't responded...sorry...send it again please.

Anybody fished any of these waypoints lately?

Ran into some Corp. Rangers on the water Saturday. Pulled up next to my dad and me while we were homing in on a condo. They asked us if we were looking for the bamboo condos they put out. Should have seen their expressions when I told them that me and my students built the condos. :D

I do like the Corps and believe they are doing a good job, but sometimes it seems like the lefthand doesn't know what the righthand is doing, LOL.

I like the Corp. too. That's one of the reasons we're working with them on this project. I just don't think these Rangers were expecting to run into me. Never had met them before. They were friendly like normal.

Here's a couple of pictures of the condos "in the water". They were in about 10 feet of water.

The Centerpoint FFA will be continuing this project again this spring. The Corp. of Engineers contacted us a couple of weeks ago to see if we were interested in building condos again this year. Of course I told them that we would. Not sure yet how many we will be building or if any other lakes will be involved besides Degray. I'll be sure to post more info. as it becomes available.

By the way......anybody got any extra 5 gallon buckets? :D:D:D

I get mine from the Bakery in the local grocery store. That's what their cake icing comes in and they just toss em. If you get two or three you'll might end up with enough for the ol' lady to bake you something sweet!

What kind of grocery store is that? Kroger, Harps.........? Might try that locally if we have one like it.

Most bakeries use the icing that comes in 3 or 5 gallon buckets. My problem is they always want to sell the buckets....not give them away.

btw....I was half joking about needing buckets. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to locate plenty of buckets. I've got about half of what we'll need. But I wouldn't turn any down if somebody just had some laying around! :D
