Thread: Montecillo Lake

I have never fished Montecillo Lake. Does it have an rv park; has anyone been fishing for crappie? Someone in Bastrop told me yesterday they have been doing pretty good on bass and has seen people carppie fishing. I may try it this weekend.

Chuter I went to L M Friday afternoon, got 2 bites one was a 6 in. bass and the other was a 6lb 7oz bass. A lot of fun on a jig pole from 45 ft. deep. Didn't see anyone catch a crappie.

Thanks Jerry; I may try somewhere close to home and save that long drive for when there is a better report.

I'll bet that was a lot of fun to say the least. Did the thought of a new world record crappie ever cross your mind as you were reelin' that big bass up?
