    Default Greers

Going go be spending a lot of time at Greers this summer starting next weekend. Any tips on crappie or bream fishing would be appreciated. Mainly single poling but may try to rig our pontoon up to do some trolling. I hope to be able to find some bream beds next week as well. Thanks!

Most of the crappie fishing on Greer’s Ferry, is usually done on the Middle Fork and Devils Fork area and up around Choctaw. I fish the lower lake mostly, since our weekend place is in Heber Springs, but we usually bass fish or chase cats. You may find it beneficial to go on a guided trip, just to see how they fish the lake. Catching Crappie Guide Service would probably be a good one, since he specializes in crappie fishing. Greer’s can be tough to learn for a newcomer.

Good luck being on the lake on the weekend, if things are normal then it's usually rough water. There are so many wake boats ect that keep it choppy at best. Go early in the mornings and be careful if you're in a small boat, plenty of idiots on the water.

Hope you find some fish. I'm headed up there the first weekend in June to sample the crappie population myself.
