Default Mister Twister electric knife blades - can they be sharpened?

I use a work sharp to sharpen mine. The blades aren’t like brand new ones but unless I’m cleaning 14” inch and up crappie, I can’t even tell. I’ve figured out to clean the smaller ones first. Those big ones can dull the blades fast. Still using the same blades that came with my twister three years ago

A common, round sharpening steel works... but only sharpen the outside of each half or have the 2 blades in the machine (unplugged) and sharpen like any kitchen knife, My knife says Rapala on it and I bought a new set of shorter blades at Wally Mart and they were reasonably priced. I used a old regular kitchen type U.S. made Hamilton Beach knife for 20+ years and never sharpened it and that was when I caught a lot of Crappie. You could read a newspaper through what was left on the skeleton. But, nowadays they only make them in China.

I second the Worksharp. Really does a good job, but read the directions as to the proper side of the blade to run across the belt!
