    Default AGFC Horseshoe Lake Ramp

I know the timing is terrible but we are going to close the Horseshoe Lake ramp till approximately June 1 to renovate it. The contractor said they were starting to haul rock this week so I went down Tuesday and put up some signs about the closure. So please be aware if you plan a trip down there you may have to launch at Karefree on the north end. Below is a link to the press release and again I apologize for the timing.

I launched there this morning without having any idea that it was supposed to be closed. There were around 50+ more that did the same. I didn’t see the sign when I put in, but someone on the lake told me about it. Are y’all going to cable off the ramp? Otherwise people may not know any better. I sure didn’t today. They were hauling rock in as I was taking out.

Thanks, my first trip to Horseshoe, great lake, took home 6 nice crappies, 3 grease stinkers. Did not see the sign. Maybe I will be able to pull crankbaits in June. Could you put a porta toilet on the wish list. Thanks

The contractor is supposed to tape the ramp off. I’m sure there will come a time when it’s obvious that construction is taking place and folks will figure out that it’s closed. Just trying to get the word out now for folks that may be coming from a ways off that didn’t plan to use a pay ramp.

We usually don’t put out toilets or trash cans because they become a mess very quickly.

All I'd ask is to pull those 2 metal signs that were put in at the end of the ramp. Those are not good on the hull of the boat when the water is up. Be glad to see a new ramp where more than one can put in at a time. Thanks for the heads up!!
