Default Lake recommendations near Rogers AR

My wife and I are planning a trip to Rogers for an event around memorial day, and are considering pulling our boat down to stay a couple of extra days and fish some new waters. Just looking at a map, it looks like Beaver Lake is pretty good sized and right nearby, but may be private with no outside vessels?

Can anyone confirm that, or recommend a good lake to visit in NW AR?
We have an older 19' Skeeter w/150 if that makes a difference if hp restricted.

    THANKS!

As far as I understand Beaver is Federal owned waters, you will be good there as long as you purchase a Non resident fishing license. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong....but I can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to bring in an out of state boat. No motor restrictions that I'm aware of....I've seen guys with 250Hp on it. Beaver is also one of the best lakes in the North West Arkansas for Crappie fishing!

Here's a link to the fishing licenses and prices.

Here's a link to the Arkansas fishing guide book....might be able to answer some of your questions with this.

Should be able to find the phone number in the book too, that you could call and talk with the local Corp of Engineer office to check on anything you might not be sure about.

    Good luck!

There is a couple on here that lives up that way, I'm sure they will point you in the right direction. Beaver is not private and has lots of ramps.

I live within a mile of the lake, no restrictions, I run 250hp Yamaha with 22 ft skeeter bay boat.
Tough lake to fish when compared to other lakes. People that know how to fish and understand the lake (as much as it can be understood) catch fish. Memorial Day can be a pretty busy time on the lake but if you get out early, you can beat the non fishing boats.

You will be fine on Beaver with your rig. If you do decide to fish, send me a PM closer to your trip, and I will try to point you in the right direction.
