Welcome to the site John, from lower Arkansas.

Good to have you aboard John. Welcome from NW Arkansas.
Welcome aboard. Can't really help you with Maumelle, never caught a single crappie out of it.
Welcome! Me and my father in law dropped a few trees right outside where the old marina used to be...checked them once in the spring, but still havent caught one crappie on that lake....

First Welcome to Crappie.com
Second I was having some good success on Maumelle last year but 06 has benn a flop. The lake is overpopulated with small bass and large catfish acording to the AGFC. Infact they just did away with the size restrictions on the lake for bass. I dont know many if any that are catching fish on Maumelle.
My best freind since HS told me his uncle who fishes the lake 3 to 5 days a week usually catches between 50 and 100 fish a day (he fishes for bream mostly) is now only catching 20 to 30 a day.
