I saw this asked in another post, but I can't find it.
Jerry or CEB, where do you suggest putting in on Cane Creek? Looking at the AGFC Atlas there are several places around the lake. Would like to try to get down sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
CEB - good to see you Saturday on the LM. As you can see, my wife is not bashful about admitting getting skunked...nor is she bashful about accepting fish. Thanks for the crappie.
Joe
I am not even familiar with Cane Creek or where it is, I am from NWA, but I wanted to let you know I found the post you could not find about which ramp to use....I have copy and pasted their replies, here you go, hope this helps.....

There is a ramp at the State Park and one on the NE side of the lake. You need to put in at the State Park ramp. The road to it is on the south side of Star City, the park is about 5 miles east off of hwy 425 on hwy 293. I be there Friday everning with my camper, hope to see you there this weekend.

Joe,
It is very easy to find the Cane Creek state park ramp. Just follow these directions, & you will get there.
Hey J, sorry for the late post. It's been a longggg, hard week so far.
It was good talking with y'all down at the River. I wish the crappie had been doing a little better, but hey, I'll take what I can get. It sure was better than studying. Sorry that I couldn't help y'all out on a few more fish. I'll try to do better next time.:D
Anyone up for a trip tomorrow AM on Cane Creek? Looks like I have a pass from the wife.
Man I'd like to but my daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids will be coming in tonight from Iowa, so I'll be spending time with them this weekend. Hopefully will get to take them to Cane Creek sometime before they leave on Sunday. Maybe sometime after the holiday.Originally Posted by bobberwatcher

I will be there around daylight tomorrow am. Will need to leave around 11 or so. Looking for tips on what to use, how deep to fish, place. I know where some deep water is right off from the landing and I know where some deeper water is around the other landing as well. If anyone gets a chance to meet me there, I will be in a maroon 85 softtop jeep with a Mossy oak breakup war eagle with merc 25. Feel free to stop in and say hi!
Well, I went over to Cane Creek today and found the "hotspot". HOWEVER, seems as if all they wanted was Rosey Reds. Nobody was hauling them in one after another, but there was an older black feller in a big ol camo'ed up War Eagle and another feller in a one man plastic boat that were "On em". I saw them catch a couple of little ones, but they caught several nice crappie. I threw white roadrunners, orange-chartruse ones, chartruse/black ones, tried slow rolling at about 4-6 ft, under a slipcork as well..... and.....nothing. not a bump one. Another feller was there in a white ranger and he didn't have a hit either using a road runner. I tried to stop by around 6 am at the local bait store and they had a sign out saying they were closed due to Thanksgiving or somekind of weird holiday like that. Who knew? :D However, it was a BEAUTIFUL morning to be outdoors.
I bet they would've been hitting some turkey on a hook? What do you think?Originally Posted by bobberwatcher
