    Default Meteors or Nightstalking

Tonight is suppose to be the peak of the seasonal meteor shower at 10:45. Get into a non-lit area and enjoy the show.

Look to the East-North East for the majority of the activity

I took the kid out of school early Friday (2nd grader) and we went to deer camp for some hunting and the meteor shower. We only saw 5 meteors but did see somewhere between 30 and 40 deer. Even though we didnt kill anything we both had a blast just enjoying each other.

Darryl did you go stalking for the shower?

I got pleasantly comfortable and went out to the lake bank and laid down and to watch for the shower. I stayed for at least half an hour or so laying on the cold ground but didn't see one shooting star. I was very disappointed. I thought maybe if we'd of driven up Albert Pike we'd have done better, but Jerry informed me that the best viewing was on the other side of our home planet. Either way, natural events like that are cool and worth putting the effort towards.

I saw about 15 and was only watching for about an hour....that wasn't too bad, I was in the heart of the Ozark Mountains nestled in a valley at about 29 degrees cold, with running water being the only movement I could hear, and an occasional bear/deer running scooting through....WOW! It was amazing out by Devil's Den State Park over the weekend.

Speaking of such phenomenon, I want to see the Aurora Borealis. That would have been better than those laser light shows I used to go to in the 70's while Pink Floyd music was playing. And I know some of you fellers knew what we did before the show.

I had heard somewhere that the meteor shower was supposed to be on or around the 18th, saw a couple "shooting stars" but wasn't really looking for them, just walking out to the truck.
