Lake Nimrod/8-25-10/Two More Lures I Like
Welp I got tired of catching All those Conway crappie so I slid over to Nimrod Lake and did pretty fair. Launched at Carter Cove and basically fished three areas. I fished the mouths of two coves or creeks coming into the main river Channel where the river starts to widen on the west end of the lake. I just drifted along with two poles and the baits in the pics, seemed like 8 foot deep was a good depth in about 10-12 feet of water. The other spot that produced was a main lake river channel with a massive stump row running along it (see PIC). You can't miss this thing sticking out of water right now. I fished along the river channel ledge and jigged the stumps that were in the deepest water. Most of the inner stump row was too shallow to produce. The stump row was where I caught my biggest fish of the day near 17 inches, in about 3-4 feet of water by a stump. Some things I noticed about Nimrod was no more than five boats on the lake all day, caught allot of 8-9 inchers, The fish were running a little skinny but still worth the effort. The two lures in the pics Crappie Beaver/Road Runner Skirt and were all I needed on a 1/16th oz head and a crappie Nibble they were constantly getting hit through out the day. Thanks Nimrod and Slab Bandit for your great tips on the lake. I will be back soon. :D

Glad you had a good trip Crappiepro! Yea we have to weed thru a lot of little ones but there are some nice slabs in this lake.
If that last pic is where I am thinking I have a brushpile there with a bucket of PVC right next to the brush.
