Thread: Conway Reports

I was thinking about fishing on Conway in the morning. Anybody been lately if so hows it doin? Thanks!

You should fish right behind me cause I sure aint hurting the population any. About one or two more rounds and I am going somewhere else if there isnt marked improvement. The first place I have ever been on the water 4 times in a row and not put a fish in the boat.

Went back to Gold Creek this afternoon and finally got on the score board. YEAH!! Kept 17. Nothing real big, just a nice mess of crappie.

We went to Gold Creek this morning. Got skunked. Only saw a few people with any fish. What were you catchin them on if you don't mind sharin?

Caught almost all of them on the orange and yellow in the bottom pic and the light green and dun ones on the end in the top pic. Every report I have heard and every person I have talked too said throw solid chartruese or something with char. on it. We caught one on blue and char. and one on orange and char. Also caught one on white with a dun tail. I dug around and found an old lucky hat and wore it, made all the difference in the world.

We passed 5 boats that were coming out as we went in and every one of them said they had been fishing for 2-4 hours and all claimed not to have a fish in the boat. I decided if everyone and their brother was throwing chart., I would try something different and it worked. Got lucky is all I can tell ya because we have been getting our butt handed to us up there before today.

Me and JohnR ended up keeping 10 this am. Did not catch a crappie after 9:00. Caught them all on shiners and I picked up two on orange/pink jig. Caught them all in the pool.
