    Default Buffalo River

I am headed to the Buffalo River for a week with my Boy Scout troop here in Charlotte, NC. We are going on a 7 day paddle down the river in canoes. I havenever been to Arkansas, and I am not so sure what to expect as far as fishing goes. I heard there's Bass and Catfish. Anything else? We are leaving on the 18th of June and returning the 28th... driving. Thanks in advance

I have never done much fishing on the Buffalo. I do the float thing once a year though. That time of the year is beautiful. So, know you will have a good time.
I would suggest bringing your ultra light stuff. You might get into some small mouth or bream. Down where the Buffalo empties into the White is some better class of fishing. Trout on the White will probably cooperate too.

That's funny I'm going camping at Buffalo Pointe on the Buffalo River from June 18 to the 28th as well. And doing a 3 day canoe trip from HWY 65 where it crosses the River to Buffalo River State Park where HWY 14 crosses the river.

You will have a great time on the river - many catfish, crawfish, mussels, small mouth bass.

Pack some RoosterTails, plastic crawfish, and maybe a small crawfish crankbait or two. You should have decent luck with the smallmouth on the Buffalo using those baits.

Take some "motor oil" colored soft curly tails...the brown roostertails is a great color for the buffalo...you're gonna have a great time

There's a lot of rock bass, green sunfish and even bluegills as well as the smallmouth bass and catfish.

In addition to the baits mentioned by others, I've done well there on Mepps spinners, medium sized crankbaits, and topwater baits. I've never fished jigs there, but a lot of guys do well on them.
