O.K. here's the deal. The city of Conway has finally signed the contract to have the tournament. Now the real work begins and I have been asked to help move some things along.
Sponsors play a big part in any tournament. It is the same with the CrappieMaster's trail. I have been asked to start finding some interested sponsors for the tournament and I need your help.
Typical sponsors include baitshops, hotels, restraunts, etc. For these people that sponsor, CrappieMaster's hangs big banners outside of their place of business, ad's are placed in their book and typically the competetors use these local vendors as they are not local and don't where else to find these type services. Trust me, I know, I have used the ads to book rooms, find restraunts and buy bait.
So if you know of someone who might be interested in sponsoring the tournament, please let me know so I can make contact with them.
We have a real chance here to become the trails only "Ultimate Pole Challenge" stop right here in central Arkansas. It's great for the economy and a great chance for all of us to fish in a pro circuit right here at home and do it the old fashion way, one pole, artificial bait only!
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I will try to keep everyone informed as to where the "official" weigh in site will be and if there will be a seminar and where it will be located as well.

This sounds really cool and i would like to be a part if i could. Will they be needing Volunteers to work weigh in and such? i would like to help out if i can. not really interested in fishing. I work for the UP Rail Road and will see if i can find a local PR office and see if they sponsor local stuff like this.

Update: I met Paul Alpers, the President of CrappieMasters yesterday in Conway. Goal was to finalize a few things such as ad sponsors for hotels, diners, bait shops, etc. Another was to meet with city and local Game and Fish officials to secure launch sites, weigh in sites, seminar sites, etc.
All ads are secure now with Bates Field and Stream being the host bait and tackle shop, Colton's Steak House and Straud's diner being the host eateries. Not that any of us need them but a couple of hotels for the out-of-towners were secured with discounted rates as well.
If you guys happen to stop by the places of business, be sure to thank them for their help with the tournament. Things are sure looking like this will be a BIG success and plans were discussed in making Lake Conway one of the only Ultimate Pole Challenges on the tour.
Also, Arkansas game and Fish will be utilizing the tournament to perform studies on Crappie growth and population, mortality rates and a few other studies needing performed to help the lake out overall. It seems its going to be an exciting event and I hope all of you will be able to participate!!!!! Remember, this tournament is 100% payback to the anglers. There is no other professional tournament trail that offers this type of payback.
