    Default Saturday in the Pool....

I caught my usual dozen from about 7 AM till 4 PM. I can't remember catching any keepers on minnows I had some larger ones nail jigs that I slow retreived off of the bottom (my favorite style).
I hate to be one to complain about crowds because I have met some very freindly people in the pool. But, a little edicate is needed when it gets so crowded. Lot's of boats anchor over productive spots then sit out corks 200' in all four directions. I don't know what the proper distance would be; but 200' makes it a little difficult for the ones who want to whizz by me with their big motors.
Otherwise, I think the more the merrier. I would just appreciate a little more consideration.

Don, I am glad you were able to catch some at the pool. You had a lot better day that I did. I got soaking wet first thing Saturday morning, I tried to run across lake with white caps in my little boat not a good idea. Had to go back to my Jeep and put on some dry clothes. Fished around Sugar Loaf Mountain and ended up with 4 nice fish.

Ya, that is a great irritant. I don't mind someone anchoring, but when the whole place is only about 600' x 300', it seems a bit selfish.

I forgot to mention the armada of trash that floated by. I dipped up what came close enough. I noticed a property owner had his grandkids helping him clean up what blew ashore by his house. I know that sent a good message.

I did my part today to help with the trash problem. I fished out an unopened can of Coors Light. I mean, its light beer, right? But light enough to float? First for me. It was just barely at the surface, but floating none the less. I also fished out about a good dozen bobbers of all colors and descrption. No balsa... Cheap ass littering crappie fisherman! LOL

I would have to agree that the amount of courtesy has been lost as the popularity of that spot has increased. I know everyone is there to have fun and fish but lets be respectful of each other. I hope to go in the morning and fight the crowds.

I'd have to say everyone I've met there has been nice. The folks that are taking up more room than others are old timers to that area. Doesn't excuse it, but they are nice guys. I don't know them well enough to mention anything to them.

Dan had a busy day today. I took some pictures, but left the camera in the truck and I'm too lazy to go get it and load them, LOL I counted 21 boats in the pond today. What the hell happened to opening day of modern gun season? I think everyone else had the same idea I did. To go fishing today.

The crowds should taper off soon and the real big boys should soon move in as it gets colder. The colder it gets in the winter the more your likely to catch some monsters. Maybe not the numbers you get in early fall, but I always catch my biggest fish on the Gold in the dead of winter.
