I'd love to get in on some slab action, so if ya know of something please let me know, oh I'm not scared to drive for em either. Thanks a lot guys and I hope everyone has a wonderful Veteran's Day and thank you troops

Hey... This is not crappie, buuut... I went yesterday to the Mammoth Springs hatchery spillway, and my brother and myself caught out limits of trout in no time.

We were using small pieces of shrimp and a lead shot, and a small Bream hook. We were fishing below the culvert there at the hatchery at the last rocks, on the north side.
Cast out beyond the grass in the stream, at let it sit for a while little bit, hope this works for you.

It ain't crappie, but you can wet your line and stink up your skillet to.
    Good fishing.......crappie cowboy

I hear that there are. I also have seen the pictures at Thunderbird Marina. Some very nice slabs hanging on the wall. I would guess that they are much easier to catch there in the winter.

If you know the lakes, Sequoah has a beach for people to swim. Just out from the beach, about 25 yards, there is a BIG underwater stump/tree. It is the only natural structure in the lake that I ever found. I fished those lakes when I was a boy. I was told by one of the crappie people that the crappie love that spot.

There are also some man made brush piles on the east bank about 20 yards out from the bank. Once you pass the cove going toward the dam, from the beach, you will see them on your finder. The dam there has some very deep water. I hit a few spots that were around 40-45ft deep. That is deep for a small lake like that.

I have been looking forward to some posts by Crappie Cowboy about those lakes. He is a very good crappie fisherman, and he just moved to Cherokee Village.

Have you tried fishing in the Spring River? Years ago I had a place there and caught plenty of 1/2 to 3/4 pound crappie. Though, there was deep water close for them to go if need be. The water temp there stays pretty close year round.
