Thread: Special Ops/Gold Creek/Wet Bloody Battle/10-26-09

Went to the same pads I caught some real good fish in the evening before, but could only manage three keepers there. Then the rain started and not being one to give up easily, I called the wife had her bring me some lunch and my good old camo Air Force Gortex rain suit I wore back in my military days. Talked to Dano a lil, ate lunch, and went under the I-40 bridge to try and wait the rain out without much luck, saw a fellow catch a few keepers with a black and chart tube. After realizing the rain was'nt letting up, I decided to get wet and get in the bush and battle it out with em in the rain. I decided to stay in the thick pads and thought it was a matter of just finding the right section of pads. Well it never happened, and I went along just catching a keeper here and there as the day wore on. The crappie were not going down easily, as one on the bigger fish I just landed threw the hook with tension in the rod and right into the palm of my rain soaked hand, drawing blood. A long wet hard fought day for 17 of my foe, in which the crappie fought brillently to stay off my line and both sides gained no ground on the other. After all this, it would take allot for me to ever trade the memory of this day from my fishing mind. I felt like I was in some of those special places my Air Force Security Forces unit ust to send me too.

Russ,if we can say one thing about you it's that you are dedicated. Still gonna try and get down there sometime.

Your wife brought you lunch?? My wife might have thrown mine off the bridge as she drove by!!
