Question Asian Carp

Has anyone heard of Asian Carp being in the White River as far North as Newport? My daughter's boyfriend said he and some friends have been shooting(bowfishing) some in an oxbow off the River in Newport. I don't know if they know an Asian Carp when they see one or not but he said they were jumping in the boat with them when they were idling, so it sound like the Flying Carp. If so this sure is some bad news.

One of them almost knocked me out of the boat a couple of years ago. I read somewhere that a government agency (or university) was doing research on them. Does anyone know what they found, or have a website we can access for more info.?

Fished Mellwood this weekend and there are so many carp that it's hard to troll. I'm really worried about the future for a lot of our fisheries.

If you can troll in Millwood, my hat's off to you, mister. lol

I have not fished that lake yet, but plan to get my feet wet there next spring. But I never figured that trolling that stump-filled place would ever be an option.

It's not Millwood, it's Mellwood. It's a Mississippi oxbow below Elaine in east AR. Real good lake at times, but the carp and gar have just about ruined it.
