Default Burnt Cane Lake

Any info on this lake would be great. Where is the best spot to fish and is it deep enough to move from one end to the other with a 60 hp outboard? I have heard really good things about this lake and was wondering if they were true. Thanks

Last week we were catching them in about 11ft of water 6ft deep around downed treetops. The lake is about 9 miles long with an average of 14ft of water in the middle. There is one shallow spot (2ft), you will see a house on the right with a small clearing, I would slow down there because it does get shallow. Good Luck

Thanks guys, I have been out of fishing for several years and just recently started back. I grew up mostly bass and catfish fishing and my 2 new fishing buddies are into crappie and bream so I am looking for some hotspots for those. Again, thanks for any info.

there are a few surprises along the way. Better teke it easy for a few trips til you locate them or start saving for a new lower unit. In fact as the water drops you will think"Man, I ran right over that snag a week ago!!"
Drop the trolling motor fairly soon and pay attention. I met a kid there one day and he told me he doesn't have a motor but has 5 or 6 tops close enough to get to with his trolling motor. He said he fished about every day and if they weren't biting there they weren't biting anywhere.

Fished the Cane today for the 1st time. Loved the lake but only caught 2 fish. I didn't see many others catching either but maybe some did. Fish finder had them below 8 feet and water temps were in the mid 80's. Not a good day for us anyway.
