Default Horseshoe or Midway

Anyone been fishing midway or horseshoe lately. Thought about trying them this weekend. Trolling crankbaits on horseshoe should produce this time of year. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ringo

hey...we were headed to the 'shoe last friday when the boys at the red barn in west memphis told us about burnt cane lake south of widener exit. great day, fat crappie on minnows...water is about 12-14 feet deep all over, great cover. game and fish officer told us folks were catching a lot starting early in the day. we had a dozen or so from 11:00 to about 1:00...(slept late...)

Ben,
Did you catch any fish over 12'' or just the standard horseshoe 10-12'' fish. Where were you trolling inside bank or outside near the middle of the lake by the big plantation house?
Thanks,
Ringo

Ringo,
We caught 4 or 5 that would go 14" . The rest were horseshoe fish. We fished straight out from Carefree where the lillies start going back towards the bank out in the middle of the lake . We fished 9 to 12 feet of water trolling nothing but minnows. Had a buddy go back tuesday said he did real good in the same depth of water.

Ben,
Did you catch your limit the last time you went and did your buddy also catch his limit on tuesday. I am trying to decide between horseshoe, tunica, or sardis. Thanks,
Ringo

2 limits by 10:00 is smokin the fish even if they are only 10''. That is a lot of fillets. We went last july and could only catch 6'' fish. Never could find the 10'' fish. We are headed to sardis on saturday. Let us know tonight if you do any good at sardis this evening.
Thanks,
Ringo
