Any one ever use WD40 on hot dogs for catfish? Some of my Dads friends say they do real well on them. I have never used the WD40 part, but get lots of catfish and gills on them cheap dogs.

as a kid I used to use those cheap red hotdogs for catfish in farm ponds, but never any WD40 on it. Used to get alot on them too. I might try it, but wiat untill I had a cooler full first.

I have used those little smokie sausage cut up, they stay on the hook better to me.

Hotdogs have worked for me in some spots,others not a bite.

I've heard about the wd-40,not being a prude,but thats just introducing a pollutant/petroleum product into the eco-system.

Preperation_H used to have some type of fish/whale/oil/blubber in it..some swore by it also.

I think there are better choices than wd-40.

I've caught them on cut up Ivory soap before, I never would have believed that until I tried it.

we use wd-40 and alot of garlic salt on hot dogs jugging on the mississippi river and it works well.

An old friend of mine would not go fishing with out WD-40. He mostly fished for White Perch with jigs and sprayed WD-40 on his jigs. He caught lots and lots of W.Ps doing this. In fact I would venture to say he caught more than anyone else, most days.

Wd-40 is a fish oil based product. That is why it works. Maybe it is primarely a petroleum base, but has a certain amount of fish oil in it.

I am like the last guy. It's a fish oil product. No petroleum is in it. You can also use it to keep pigeons off window sills and as an arthritis rub
