The crappie are on the points at Poinsett. Fish in water 9 to 12 ft. deep close to the bottom. I kept 26 this morning. 10" to 12". Alot of small crappie are with the bigger ones....just have to weed through them. I fished from 8 a.m. til 11:30 a.m. Live bait is the key.

What end of the lake were you fishing?

The southwest portion of the lake. The 2 points south of the Park cove. The small point is the better one.

Lots of standing timber on those points making the crappie hang out. Great to see some NEA boys hanging out on the board.

My gradparents used to have a house on that lake. We would go every weekend and fish that point.

I grew up in Jonesboro.

Oh yeah, wife and boys live in Paragould. I get back there every once in a while when I have some time off from guiding here in Hot Springs area. I sure do get alot of funny looks when my truck rolls through Jonesboogie and the Gould, lol. Looks like "is he lost, what's he doing up here with a 501- telephone number on it." Those that know me and try to run me off the road don't count, lol. Tell my wife she ought to run for mayor of Goobertown all the time.
