Default Well it's about time...

I get to do some fishin'. Got the month off to "study" for my upcoming board exam... Have made a few trips out to the lower end of the Little Maumelle in the past week or so. Have found a few on the channel edges in 10-13' of water near the bottom. Found a dozen one trip and then 15 on another. Took my brother in law last Sunday and only caught 5, with 2 of those being throwbacks. Spent too much time rounding minners back up after he knocked a half pound over in my boat...

Haven't gotten any pics, but will be sure to take the camera with me tomorrow morning. Hopefully the weather cooperates...

Should try Nimrod Lake sometime. It's a good lake for spiderrigging. I quit Spiderrigging long ago myself , jiggin or nothing . Have been catching a bunch some days , just most are small. Some of the locals troll up some nice strings sometimes.

I'm glad that you're getting to fish some Chris, I'm ready for fall to get here so we can hit CC.

Got this one at the mouth of the LMR. He went just over 2lbs. By the way, that Rolling Rock is a long neck.

Chris and I have traded some notes this week about the LMR. Sunday evening and Monday morning were great. Got some real good ones. By Monday evening the water had dropped at least a foot, and I only got one.

Cought them all in about 12 ft of water fishing about 10 ft deep spider rigging. All of them were cought on the large size minnows tipped with nibblets (yellow). The hooks with no nibblets did not produce.

You'd better study and fish in the fall!
Sorry, it's just the "Daddy" in me and of course the memory of boards.

Nah, she will let Gooch in the house but only under close supervision. She even lets me still go fishin' with him. Kinda like watchin' a 3 yr old at the waterpark...

And I can't wait 'till Fall, already tired of this hot weather. Went out to the river this morning and even with it being cloudy, still felt like a sauna. Caught about a half dozen decent crappie and the usual gobs of tiny channel cats with yellow bass mixed in. Gooch continued to finish a disappointing second place. He talks a good game, but when that crappie gets to the top of the water, something just snaps in him and he looses it. Water continues to drop significantly. By the time I left at noon, the water was the lowest I have ever seen it out there. The log just out from the point was completely out of the water. Hopefully the river will stabilize within the week, so long as these thunderstorms hold off.

The forecast for the river is pretty decent. The flow is supposed to go down significantly in the next couple of weeks. But, I don't know if that accounts for the rain Oklahoma has received this week. I apologize to everyone. I think it is my fault. Ever since I bought that toon boat to play on the river, it has been a mess.
