Default Brush To Hide In On Greers

Well the fish on Greers have a lot of brush to hide in now & more tomorrow. We are almost 13 FAN and still rising. The heighth rain gage on the middle fork at Shirley is at 21 and still rising. By the time all this rain drains out of these hills and hollers that valley they call Greers Ferry is going to be full. Will probably cause a problem for Crappie fishing, but I can almost guarantee you can catch a big mess of cats.

Unc says when the tributaries get muddy, the catfishing is on! I marked some trees that had fallen in the water and were about 8 ft deep around the first of September. If I can leave the deer alone I plan on fishing them when the water calms down in a few weeks. What are ya'lls thoughts for the fish up here goin into winter, how deep do they go?

Wish, I would say that if the water is stained a little they will shallow up a some, but normally I would look at 15 to 20 feet. With winter commin on and the water high, I would almost guarantee a good mess of cats....

Put a new prop on my toon yesterday and went on a ride to try it out and man is the lake muddy. If it ever clears up I will sure be chasing them.

I didn't look real close when we crossed the Edgemount Bridge but it did not look as muddy. How long will it take the West side of the lake to clear up some?

With the water running like it is, not very long. The four major tributeries Choctaw Creek, South Fork, Archie Fork and Pee Dee Creek are Milkey but running good so I would guese that the upper areas will be fishable by the end of the week. If they generate on a regular basis the main body will settle out and clear fairley fast. You might be able to spider rig by the middle of the week, but trolling would probably be the later part. I have got a lot on my plate this week, so dont know if I will be able to get out or not..
