Thread: Shellcrackers at Saguaro 5-25

Had a great day at Saguaro.Started out up the channel in a favorite gill cove and first cast against the wall,bobber popped and vanished,10 minutes later my size 6 Aberdeen hook was gone.Probably a nice channel cat,but maybe a world record shellcracker,lol.4 pound test does'nt do it for the big boys.Good to start and get the blood flowing at 6:00 am.Caught our usual bunch of gills but only kept over 6 inches this time.My first was 7 so,I figured 6 was fair.Not to my buddy though.So,we moved behind Shiprock into a cove and BAM,my buddy got the big shellcracker,he was 10 inches long.Time to get a bigger one so I started bass fishing,lol.Not going to beat that one.3 large mouth with my hand tied jig and that's about it for the morning.Left at 9:30 am.Beautifull morning but a lot of boats water skiing.Hate em.He's not a Professional photographer like me.
