My son and I hit Lake Alamo on 29 Jan for some post deployemnt Crappie fishing. It was windy all day with gusts to 15mph. I think that we were lucky to get the 15 that we got.

Then on 3 Feb my buddy Brian and I went back to Alamo and were able to get 31 Crappie. We found them a bit shallower this time and all were full of ripe eggs or turned jet black in the live well. Unfortunately we did not take any pictures this day.

Crappie fishing is starting to pick up here and should be great through the end of March. Then it will be time to go night fishing!
