I was the one that contacted Dan Galusha (dansfishintales) and told him about the positive response to my original post and the week that I spent driving Virgils camera boat at Great Slave in the 70s. I also told him of my interest in locating some of those original fishing shows.
Now that I see Vigils daughter has posted ... this may be a good time to see if there would be an interest in a dvd set with all of those old shows.
I know that I would be the first to place an order if they where available.

Virgil was one of the first I watched on tv. You have brought back many good memorys of "fishing with the greatest". I watched most of his shows and have learned a lot from him.

Ken,
I think I can give you some direction as who to contact regarding the shows. My dad left the shows to our church school in Owosso, MI. They are currently working on getting those transferred to dvd. The woman's name is Vicki Morrow, and her phone number is (989) 277-7911, or (989) 729-6408. I hope she can give you some information that might help. I might have a VHS copy of that particular show. If I do, I will try to get you a copy. Thank you for your positive comments regarding my dad.

Sandy, thank you for the information. I too am shocked about an alegation of cheating on Ward's good name. Met him many times and I can not recall anything about dishonesty. The man shared his love and knowledge of fishing with all of us and was instrumental in improving the sport.

Thanks again for your input.

Chuck

The World of Virgil Ward

The end of his show was always a demonstration in an aquarium of that show's featured lure. I never missed watching a show with my dad. While not as popular, there was another show that we would always watch hosted by Arkansas fisherman Rayo Breckinridge. Rayo grew up with my grandpa in Beech Grove and Paragould, AR and was more of a brother to him than a friend. One of his cousins, Gale, is an avid bass angler today and one of my dad's best friends.

I am glad to hear that someone is looking after a piece of our fishing history. As you read thu these comments you can see how many sportsmen that your dads shows had a positive effect on.
Thanks for the info ... hopefully we will keep this info in the archives so that it will not get lost.
Ken
