All is well up this way except the weather! 50 degree high's and sometimes low's in the 30's. Had a frost last week!

Would you mind sending it to me also ?

Thanks Shellback, I thought it had to be from you. I would by far rather it had been made into a museum if for no other reason than its name, as it said in the article. Seems a shame to sink her, no more years than she had on her, now all we have of her are the memories, but at least they can't sink that. Thanks again for the mail!

In the 30's at night? No wonder the the weather's got you penned up. Not to make you jealous, but our nights are upper 70's and lower 90's in the afternoon. Our crappie are transitioning to their summer patterns and we're catching them at 6 to 9 ft in brush. No big numbers, but usually in the teens after culling, and on jigs. Bite seems better in the am and at dusk when it's cooling a bit, but we can catch throughout the day if we work tight to the brush. Check out some of our posts on "12 Mile Bayou." Nothin' spectacular, but some mighty fine eatin'!

My daughter's recital was last night. She is 15 and loves to dance. She wants to be on Broadway one day. You know, I think she will make it. However, there was a little african american girl who did a solo to the song " DADDY " by Beyonce. Can't spell her name. She dedicated her solo to him. And I thought he sure must be extremely proud, about now. Then after the recital was over,I had learned that the little girls father had been killed in Iraq. My heart ached for that little girl.

So,to those of you whom have lost loved ones due to military service. My heart aches for you as well. Rusty

That's too sad Rusty. That girl must have had some pluck to stand up and sing for a lost father without losing it. It amazes me what kids can do, she's got to be a strong little lady.

    Default VietVet68.....

Thanks for doing this. I had been thinking of how to initiate it, but you went the extra mile and got it done in a far better way with that tear jerker of an opening. It sure got things going, thanks again......

Labill, check out this fine forecast we have for this week! http://www.crh.noaa.gov/forecasts/PA...&city=Montrose

A few of us had a little fishing get together this past Sunday. Fished in the morning and met for lunch, we were all gathered round the campfire trying to warm up while cooking some dogs up. I don't think I've had my windows open in the house more than a dozen times yet this spring. I think the crappie still have their fur coats on. LOL!

We tried,we tried,Oh God we tried
So we could be here too
    And walk around remembering
And look for names we knew
Our lives were lost so far away
    Upon a distant shore
But we are here in memory
As you read our names once more
    Remember us,Remember us
    Although we're truly gone
    Remember us,as we once were
And not just names in stone

In Memory of Andy Alaniz and John W. Hutto....KIA, 27 Feb. 1991, Jalibah Iraq.

Here's to fallen comrades, till we meet again at the Last Muster.

"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori"

Here is my favorite poem for Memorial Day....

    In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
    Canadian Army
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

My grandpap told me growing up..."Son, God doesn't deduct time from your life, spent fishing"
