Thread: DIAGRAMS OF BASIC RIG SETUPS

I make hand tied crappie marabou and feather jigs, ice flies, and ice spoons that I use fishing for crappie. I got to thinking that this would be a good spot for everyone to post their favorite pictures or drawings of fishing rigs. Here are some of my drawings. Use or modify as you see fit everyone. These are kinda neat. Thought I'd share the new drawings with you.












This is the knot I use to tie the jig to the line........

SURGEON'S LOOP KNOT

1) Place your jig on a line

2) Hold the jig in your hand and pretend you are tying your shoelace

3) Run your jig through the loop (Twice) and pull tightly.

(ALTERNATE AND EASY WAY) ..... Fold over the tag end of line and form the knot using both strands to make a double overhand knot. Pull up carefully on both ends and the loop.




This is a more "Fancy way" to tie it. I just use the simple way mentioned above.

My signature is my minnow spoon. Some people call them ice jigs. Powder paint and bake in a toaster over at 285 degrees for 18-20 minutes to give it a chip resistant finish.

Yeppir. On Lake Erie

Tip with a wax worm or red wiggler.

Give more info on how to fish the Bold Rig and the floating Jig rig? I am looking at fishing them for Sauger here on the Tn River.
And also crappie.
