Thumbs up Awesome Fly Tying And Crappie Fishing Videos

I have seen so many requests about and for information on HOW TO CRAPPIE FISH video, or HOW TO TIE A FLY fly videos, that I went and compiled a list of links for you. Someone on this forum stated "Go to you tube and type in jig tying." Here are some results. Hope this helps somebody. Even if it is only one teacher or beginning fisherman, it is worth it.

Per Ed Moes - Site Owner and Administrator: Crappie.com is my website -
These are my rules, and I insist on Crappie.com being a FAMILY oriented “Teach a person how to fish” web site, that any age fisherperson can visit.

Now, it is up to all of us to help "educate" and "mentor" the newcomers to this board and to crappie fishing. This thread will only be as good as we members make it. I am begging you all to add to this thread as we find good internet videos or sights that are teaching how to crappie fish or how to do something pertinent to crappie fishing.

WE LOVE to fish, WE CARE about others, and WE SHARE what knowledge we have.

We are a CRAPPIE.COM family of learners.

CHENILLE JIG VIDEO

Wrap the starter thread on the hook shank. Add a drop of super glue. Tie in a two tone marabou tail. Add a drop of super glue.Tie in Krystal flash. Double over and add a half hitch knot. Begin to tie in the chenille and black striping or variegated chenille at the end of the tail feathers. (I only prefer my chenille body to be about 1/3 of the entire hook length. Usually about four turns.) Strip off some of the fibers so the inner thread is exposed and wrap that with the tying thread. Then bring the tying thread to the front. Wrap the chenille tightly about four turns to the front. Secure with a half hitch knot. Wrap the stripes to the front of the jig hook. Secure with two half hitch knots. Cut the extra off close to the jig body. Add a drop of super glue. Hang the fly to dry.

After I tie the marabou tail on tie the chenille on. Then wrap the bare hook part with junk wool till it is as thick as the lead behind the head. Bring the thread up to the head and wrap the chenille. I like that type jig to be used with minnows or a small piece of worm and fish it by dragging along bottom casting ,drifting, or super slow trolling. Lime green mixed with yellow chartreuse is absolutely deadly. Use Fluorescent Chenille Tying Material from Barlow’s tackle shop in Texas. For the majority of your jig tying I would suggest size 2 which is often classified as medium. You probably want to order either some of the strung marabou pin feathers to make your tails.

Default Stichy Postscript

I guess you would have to PM EDHEAD who owns the site or CRAPPIEPAPPY to ask about that. I am hoping others will still add to this list.
