Thread: Have you ever used this for crappie?

I am going "nite stalkin" tonight.

i am going to spend some time tossin a jitterbug for a BIG GREEN CARP.

I cant wait.

Wouldn't ya know it ... it started raining in the afternoon and didn't stop until dark.

Fishing AFTER a rain is worthless.

I did get set a new record on one of my hot spots tonight, so I guess that was a plus.

I got shut out today.

What a bummer.

Hot ... no wind ... dead.

I did everything I know this morning and didn't find one crappie.

I spend most of the time tight lining a jig in cover. I worked all my holes from bottom to top and only got bit twice, and both times lost it in the brush. I think it was a small bass both times.

The only thing that saved the day was hammering the bass with a spinnerbait at dawn.

All the crappie here are deep right now and the bobber/jig combo isn't work at all.

But ... just wait until fall.

What's up?...I am doing good...I went fishing today at friends farm pond...We did really well...Caught several nice blue gill and three nice size crappie...My buddies boy was using one of my rods with the bobber setup...He probably out fished both of us...He caught pretty much every fish when the bobber stood up....He actually caught the biggest crappie......It was really nice to see him enjoying himself catching the fish...I gave him one of the bobbers and some small jig heads....We used red wigglers and bits of nightcrawlers...I was really shocked to see the crappie biting on the worms....I am going to use the tube jigs next time....Thanks again KCBH for sharing the bobber setup etc....My buddy said he would posting pictures of the fish soon...

I just ordered some 1inch crappie tube jigs from cabelas...
