something to think about; I like my cork to float half in and half out, because if a fish takes your bait and is movin up, as if you're a little too deep or fishin under them, the cork will lay on its side and then you know something is messin with it.

Woh what a great idea. I've never liked threading line through the non spring type of bobbers and those springs always bugger up your line. I'm going to try that with my Yankee Daves Crappie Bobber. I bet that would work great with the thill type bobbers with the longer floats.

What's up?...I am doing good...I rigged one of those bobbers up...I used the thill bobber like the one in your photos...But, I used the smallest split shot in the middle and the next size bigger split shots on the side....The one in the middle is really small....Will that work?..I just used a screw driver and made a hole for the shots...I am anxious to give it a try....How do you cut the weight off those jig heads?....So, you can't use nothing over 1/8 ounce right?....

What's up?....I am doing good...If someone could figure out how to rig this up on some sort of slip bobber rig?...It would be really great for deeper water..Since you can I assume only set your bobber so deep with this particular rig...Anyone have any ideas on how to setup a slip bobber rig like this?....I am not sure if it even can be done?....Thanks for the tip on this bobber rig KCBH..

The split shot on the top is counter balancing the weight of the jig and the line. The two split shots on the side act as the pivot point. If the weight of the line and the jig (that is hanging under the bobber) is more than the weight of the top spilt shot then the bobber's main shaft will try to point vertical or maybe a 45 degree angle. What I would do if I were you I would start with a 1/64 oz jig head and work my way up from there.

All the crappies I caught in the above photos never pulled the bobber under water, all they did was make it stand up vertically.

I just use a pair of wire cutters to remove the excess weight off the jig head.

I regulary fish this set up 4'-5' deep.
