Default Was Thinking (SCARY, ain't it)

On Cranking and having rod holders with the big motor going to troll. It hit me that in order to drive my boat, I'll be sitting in the main seat, NOT in my front seat where I can get to my rods real quick. Guess I can sit on my cooler, next to my drivers seat and to where I can get to the rods when a fish hits. Any other ideas guys?

Just add a couple of bases for your rod holders in the back so to have options on the most efficient way to fish given the circumstances.

I have two rod holders on the back and two on sides at the driver seat. I run two 12 foot poles on the sides and two short ones out the back. Trick is to keep the boat straight while you reel in the fish. Also you need to run the back lines at least 15' longer than the lines on the 12 foot poles to make sure you don't get tangles (assuming you're longlining your cranks).

is 1 4 pole holder on the front and then 2 2 pole holders, one of each side in the back. Think I can make things work

Don, you don't have to pull cranks. You can still catch 'em spider rigging and single poling.

Default I know but want to try it out

I've got to figure out which one of my trolling motor batteries is going out and I'm gonna try it either tomorrow or friday at the rez, just up front instead on the big motor. I've got a 12/24 setup and for some reason the 12 even though it's fully charged, won;t hold it very long. I can have it wide open and it just won't keep on keeping on. Think it being the 12 volt that dies, it's the first one in the string thats dying but I'll figure that out this evening by taking the cable loose and switching them abit
