here is Jeff
Well, Jeff White and I fished together for the first time this morning. WHat a supper nice guy. Also very knowledgable about crankbaits, troling, and crappie in general. Made a new fishing freind today.
We started trolling around 6am and it was slow for the first hour. It was cdloudy, and rainy. We actually got COLD during one rain storm. Been a long time since I got cold. Anyway, we hit 3 or 4 areas not catching very many, when finally the sun brok through and we started catching them more regualr. I think we ended up with either 11 or 12. We had 4 between 13 and 15". Jeff has a boat set up for some serious crankbait fishing. Today was the first time I ever used plainer boards. WIll be buying some very soon. Jeff thanks for the trip. Looking forward to taking another to Bay Springs in the near future.
Here are some pics.

Great job David. Can't wait to get up that way soon. That fish in your left hand looks red on the gills and a spot on his side. What is that? We caught a scarred fish friday that I have caught before.. funky looking. Was that you that posted the hurt fish you caught twice?

no, that wasn't me. That fish just had been in the cooler and had some blood in him. You will notice some of the fish we caught today had the whole crankbait in their mouth. We had to operate on a few. SOmething to think about when fishing a tournament and you have to weigh in live fish.
I have cuaght some humpback bass before. That fish you caught looks like a scare form a gar or something like that. Maybe a turtle. Looks like it had teeth though. Might have been a trolling motor or an outboard motor also.

If any of you get a chance to go fishing with David, I would highly
recommend it. Great guy, and knows his crappie - could hardly
sleep last night, thinking on some of the fish behavior questions and
answers we talked about. I see right now though, if I'm going to fish
tournaments, I'm going to have to modify some of my "whack 'em and
stack 'em" meat-fishing mentality - Never thought I'd see the day when
a deep hooked slab was a bad thing, but not if I'm gonna keep 'em alive.
I guess letting them flop in the bottom of the boat for 10 minutes during a hot bite is out too :D Looking forward to a Bay Springs trip too. We get
some of these tournaments out of the way, we'll have to do that.
Oh, and by the way, David, I did find one of your lures you left in the boat when I got home, remind me to give it back next time I see you. You weren't
by any chance distracted by those ski-bunnies across the lot from us when
we were loading up, were you? Its a wonder I remembered to tie the
boat down!
