Fishing buddy Dave caught 11 nice crappie (average 11 to 12 1/2 inches) from 12 Mile Bayou Thursday on a blue and white jig fished vertically between 8 and 12 ft. Also caught a bonus of two bass (2 and 2 1/2 lbs.) Conditions were partly cloudy and a few showers scattered around. The bite was between 1:30 and 2:30 pm. We're planning another trip to the Red sometime next week, depending on weather and when we can both get away. Will post results when we return. Good luck to all.....

Dave went to 12 Mile today and caught 12 crappie from 11" to 14" and released them all hoping they will still be there tomorrow for the tournament. They were caught on a white 1 1/2" jig with silver flakes and on a red w/ blue stripe and a chartruce tail. All were caught between 10:30 am to 11:00 am. A really short time to catch 12 nice ones plus the culls. After 11:00 am, the catching was over. He stayed 'til 3:00 and not another fish bit. Hope they will still be there tomorrow. The bonus was a 5 lb. bass he caught on his Wally Marshall nine footer. Good job, Dave!
