Rodhiss has a really good population of crappie as far as numbers is concerned, expect to catch a lot of crappie, but theyll be small. From what i hear ( this may not be entirely accurate) the ncwrc quit stocking shad in the lake a few years ago, and this stunted the growth of the crappie in the lake. Used to catch lots of good slabs, maybe 40 or 50 a night. But the past few years, ive still caught that many but very few were keepers.
Look for brushpiles over about 12-25 feet of water in the creeks. I usually tightline minnows over the brushpiles under lights at nite. This produces best for me in the summer. If your a day fisherman, troll along the creek channels or nearby brush with jigs set at different depths untill you figure out what depth the fish are holding at. I go back to where i caught a few trolling and tightline minnows untill i stop catching them and go back to trolling and do it over again. The bigger creeks usually produce best. Connely Creek is good this time of year. (this is next to the water treatment plant on the left side of the lake if your coming from the castle bridge landing. Ya cant miss it). Also the creek directly across the lake from Connely Creek is good. (not sure of the name).
Once agian dont expect much for size, good luck.

Thanks for the info Crowder. I hope to try out your suggestions soon. I just recently bought my first boat, and have never really done much crappie fishing, so any advice is appreciated.
