    Default Eagle FishMark 480 problem

My 480 worked great for 6 monthes and now only works periodically. The depth reading blinks on and off when it starts acting up. Anyone know the cause or what the blinking means? Thanks

Sound's like it maybe a loose connection or a bad Transducer.

I just fixed a similar problem with my FishMark 320. It wouldn't even turn on at times and then it would come on later whether I turned it on or not. Also the flashing depth reading problem. The cause of this was a bad hard splice on the battery end of the wiring. Corrosion had built up in the splice and you couldn't see it because of the metal connector. I cut the splice out and re=did it, works perfectly. Cost me 20 bucks for a voltage meter from Auto Zone. First, I hard wired the unit to the battery to make sure it worked, then began with tracing the wiring in the most likely place to cause the problem, the bad splice ws the second most likely problem area.

I have a 320 that works pretty good. We thought it was acting up sometimes because the entire display would flash. Turns out the transducer wasn't deep enough, and if both of us were in the front of the boat, the transducer was out of the water. Just thought I'd mention it before you start re-splicing wires.

I had the same problem with my 320, one of the pins in the connection
was bent. Aligned the pin and it works fine.
