"G" Gone but not forgotten!!
My slabs are 14,15,16 inch sack-a-laits, caught at Toledo Bend. This past Sunday 23 gave a ziploc bag full of fillets
I consider "slabs" to be not necessarily huge crappie but thick crappie, something that produces bigger than average fillets. I've caught them at all sizes from 17.5" down to little 2" babies... they all eat the same imo, but the fight of the bigger ones is what keeps me going after them.
Fishin' fills the time until College football season
I guess a slab to me is any over 12", but have caught lots of 17" or over and wife has that 19" from a few years ago. I do get a lot of 13"-15" here on Toledo Bend.

What's a slab? Never heard of 'em and never caught one. Are they easier to catch than Crappie, cause something's gotta give.
Wannabe...
Wannabe...v2.0
A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
A slab is like beauty... it's in the eye of the beholder!!! :D:D It really depends on where your catching them. Here in southern VA I consider a 12 incher to be a nice slab! But those 15 and 16 inchers are still a lot better!!! :D:D:D

I would consider anything 12" or over to be a slab where I normally fish.
