    Default Unhookum

Just ordered a pair of these tools. Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they are well designed and made. I actually enjoyed the videos on the site! (Some nice size 'gills and unusual species.)

Best fish hook remover ? dehooking tool ? dehooker ? disgorger : The unHOOKum Hook Removal Tool

Saw a video one time a guide bends the jig of a hook out a bit so it increases hook ups then if a crappie swallows it deep all he has to do is poke his finger down to the jig and push it off. I have been doing that ever since and it works great no looking for something to dislodge the hook. I wouldn't try this on a toothy fish though.:D

Do like us poor fokes just use a #2 pencil and run your line along the side of the
eraser, follow your line down to your hook twist the pencil ,keep a little pressure on your line and back it out

It looks like that 1/4 turn is the key.

Default Build your own hook removal thingy

Take the shaft of a tooth brush, drill a small hole in the end. Take some wire, (stainless) if you can get your hands on some. Twist the wire with safety wire pliers and then form the tip as shown. Slip on some electrical heat shrink.
Heat up the wire with a torch and put into the hole you drilled. Move the heat shrink up the wire and shrink it. PRESTO:D. You got yourself a hook removal thingy.
    Savings $11.95 + S&H
Works just like the one in the video, and costs $0.00
    Hope you enjoy.
