    Default favorite line?

what are you favorite lines to use for general freshwater fishing (crappie, bluegills, bass, trout)? I have noticed some of the better ones i have used to be mccoy's mean green and berkley vanish flouro (the one in the blue/black package, not the gold package).

P-Line CXX Hi Vis 6# for crappie and P-Line CXX Hi Vis 10# for Bass. I like the Mr. Crappie lines as well, but find CXX to be a bit stronger imo.

I stick with trilene XL it works for me and is smooth casting. I mostly cast jigs. I am building a spider rig so I may try another type.

I use to fish Stren xtra strength 6lb line. It casted great and you could just about pull a car with it, its that strong, however it is hard to find around here. I also use to use the Stren hi-vis gold, it was just as tough. Caught a 60 lb buffalo on it and many other big fish. I never use to like Trilene, i bought 2 spools last year at different places and had bluegill breaking my line, had to quit fishing and go buy more line. Tonight i decided to give it another try, i bought some of the Trilene XL. from the threads above, it looks like it might be pretty good.

I started using the "super" lines when they first came out and won't use anything else except for leaders once in a while. Started with spiderwire then tried fireline, powerpro, cabela's, gorella, and some others. I prefer fireline once it is broken in. They seem to last forever, super thin, amazing sensitivity, and knots (on good snaps) that last most of the day/night.

Tectan is the only line I use. Can only get it from Cabelas.
