My feelings are the fish will still bite but it makes fishing a headache sometimes. It is not as much the wind that affects the bite as it is other factors.
Well, I had planned to go Crappie and BG fishing Tuesday. Supposed to be warm, but forcast says "windy."
A person once told me that if it's moderatly windy, then you won't catch fish on a small lake. Is that true or just BS?

Quote ( let the wind be your friend). Too much wind is nothing but grief, but a little wind is fantastic.
Don't think it make a lot of difference except if using a boat and then boat control enters into it big time.
Other than the fronts that change the Barometer and sometimes that will make a big difference as does clear moon lit nights. Clear blue bird days are the toughest in my mined and a little wind can help with that so wind is not a bad thing unless you are trying to control a boat. Some fish are more impacted IMHO to fronts too like bass are big time changed. Crappie can be impacted, but I don't think as much as bass say.

Well they say 25Mph gusts of wind Tuesday and no rain. Got the boat and motors ready. I'm goin from 4:00pm on. This noob yankie is determined to catch his first Crappie and I'm not leaving until I catch one.
When I finnaly do I will be so pleased.
Get you a drag chain before you head out fishnoob. That 25 mph will wreak havoc on your success if you can't slow down. They will bite if you can present it correctly. The wind changed my plans this past weekend, but one weekend out of the past 15 weeks isn't too bad. Good luck!!
Yes, it can affect the fishing success, but it doesn't affect the catching success. hehe
The wind bothers us more than it does the fish.
I live for the thump!
Take some waders to use, if possible. wind problems solved...
