    Default SACA first tournament

well, we now have one under our belt. There was no money involved, but you wouldn't have known it. It was a scortcher today with the highs around 95, but 8 out of the nine teams weighed in a limit of fish. All the fish were small around the 10 inch length with only a couple of 12 inchers brought to the scales, but that is very tipical of Cedar. Here are the results

1st place Team of David Waters 3.51 pounds
    2nd Place Tie Team of Hunt/Daniels-----Nicholson 3.28
    4th place Team of Stegall/Fyock 3.23
    5th place Team of Whitehead/Montgomery 3.10
    6th place Team of Zion/Vandover 2.96
    7th place Team of Lovett/Nichols 2.61
    8th place Team of Dodd/Dodd 2.31
    9th place Team of Mitchell/Mitchell ---

I just what to think David for taking the time to get our first club tournment together. David is my partner and dear friend and is doing a good job at everything with our club. I don't know if I like fishing with him in another boat, but next time I'll get him. Thanks Big Dave!!!!!

Hi David, Brandon Jennings here with the Central Louisiana Crappie Association. Congrats on your first sucessful club tournament. Looks like you had a great turn-out. We hope to have ours formed and going soon, and able to hold our first tournament sometime around Sept. or Oct. Quick question: What type of scales are you using and where did you purchase them. I have to start trying to locate some reliable scales for our weigh-in. Oh yea! and good luck on your next tournament as well :D .

We ordered Equalizer scales. Very nice, and very expensive. Around $350 if I remember correctly. Enough to affect how much dues were the first year. You definately need to get high quality scales. Some places will be determaned by less than a tenth of an ounce.

We had a great turnout for the meeting last night. Very pleased.
