    Default Hello fellow La. fisherman

I'm kind of new to the world of fishing. My wife and I picked the
poles up a few weeks ago and now were HOOKED!!
I've fished before while I was growing up but after my dad past,I left it.
But happily I've come back but don't know to much and would like
to persue this great sport.I don't have a boat so my experience is
limited to the banks. This is a great site that I've been directed to by
ways of SacalaitSteve.(Happy Birthday!!)I'm looking forward to learning
all that I can from everyone involved

Hey scorpion you came to a great site for info . I heard today of a guy
who caught a 60 + lb. catfish off the bank at beaver park. Also at different
times of the year Spanish lake has some great sacalait fishing along it's
levee banks especially during the cooler months catfishing is also good
from it's different piers it has all along the levee road around it. Heck
you can even catch saltwater fish like reds and specks and flounder
at the beach at cypermort point. If you get on the basin levee you will
see lots of places to fish from ,from the bank . Maybe you and I can
hook up and make a few casts from my boat.

Welcome to the LA board. You guys in S. LA are having better luck catching sacalait than we are in N. LA, so leave us lots of posts. If we can't catch 'em, we still like to read posts from those that do. You have some good guys in your territory that will give you info on where to go and some good techniques on how to catch crappie. Best of luck!
