    Default Big fish weekend

I fished Moses Lake over the weekend and caught two big carp on medium spinning gear while fishing leeches for walleyes. The longest looked to be 36 inches long. The other was eyeballed at 18-22 lbs.

One made me think my line was caught in the prop as he streaked under the boat. Took me a while to figure out there was a fish on the end and not a 25 horse Yamaha.

I did have a nice largemouth hit a leech. Looked to be 20 inches long. It popped my leader on one of it's runs. Figured my leader had to be roughed up and that's why it broke.

Yes. Walleye were caught on bottom walker rigs with nightcrawlers. Thought you'd get more perky about the largemouth. We also caught smallmouth on nightcrawlers and neutral density husky jerks.

I really know what your talking about with the largemouth breaking you off, I had a 6+ break me off in the causeway part of banks lake.Largemouth are fun but smallies fight harder. Did you guys get any crappie or perch?

nope... not fishing for perch or crappie. Another boat picked up a crappie trolling a shad rap.
