Default Shot This One This Afternoon

Didnt really want to hunt this afternoon but needed to cover my chairs up in my box stand since it's supposed to rain beginning tonight thru tomorrow so I finally talked myself into going. When I got set down I glanced at my watch and it was 7 minuites till 6PM. Within just a couple of minutes a doe steps out in the field, then another, then another, and then another. Afterabout a miunutes they all throw their ears up and look back into the woods and start moving in the other direction. Then oiut pops this boy and he's chasing does all over the field. They just done ever learn that them girls will get 'em in trouble.:D I got back down out of the stand at 2 minutes after 6 since there was NO WAY I wanted to shoot two and have twice the work.

In yester-years this was just a fair buck. Today it is a pretty good buck to alot of people's standards. I'm guessing this one went @ 150 lbs. on foot, or maybe a little more. Allen and I have killed a few this year and they are all in great shape with a good thick layer of fat covering their rumps. Anybody e;se seeing this?

went hunting in west kentucky with muzzleloaders. All the dear we killed we one and a half or two and a half year old deer. They were some of the fattest deer I have ever seen, and I hunt good crop areas in norhteastern missouri. I think they are tellling us it's going to be a heck of a winter. Better bundle up. Those deer are smarter than we are. Maybe they are telling us something.
