We use a Frabill bucket and a battery operated aerator. I read an article somewhere that said the best bucket is actually the old style styrofoam type.

Lum;;; I just keep the water fresh, if its to warm I'll take a little ice out of the cooler and cool them just a little. or you can buy one of those portable bubblers.lol

You can get very sophisticated with minnow buckets, especially if you want to keep them for a period of time. For daily use I use the following:

Dry hands link at the top of the page is a sponsor. I have not used their product.

I take frozen drinking water with me and just throw a bottle in the styrofoam bucket once or twice a day. Keep the water cool and you don't need one of those noisy aerators that can drive you up the wall if you have a bad case of tinitius. They do work tho.

I like the styrofoam chests, the kind you get when ordering a ham, to keep the water cool, and add ice if needed. The chest walls and bottoms are 2" thick and keep the water cool, and in the summer I use an aerator along with the ice.

You used to be able to buy those real thick ones but I haven't seen any in years.

Do any of ya'll just use the livewell on your boat and set to "recirculate"? Just put a cooler in the boat with ice to throw the crappie on and use the livewell for the minnnows.
