Default Weed and Wood jig guard made from 6mm split ring

I have tried using a small split ring on my jigs. It does a nice job of covering the hook point so it does not catch on wood and weed. A package of 200 split rings was only 98 cents at Wally World in the craft dept. Here are a few pictures.

Just thought I would share this idea.

Make that 2 of us.Looks to me in the pics that the hook tips are still exposed. So that means it can still catch up.

May just be tho,as the pics are to blurry for my old kodger eyes :D

It basically helps to push the jig away from the leaf or piece of wood thus reducing hangups. Just an idea. It works similar to a "real" weedguard...only cheaper.

If you believe then no proof is necessary. If you do not believe then no proof will be sufficient.

Pretty good idea. I see the theory behind it, I will try it out. Does it effect the way the jig is presented?

I'm from Missouri on this!!!!!!!!!!! Would like to see a better picture on just how it is put together.

I was working on cropping just the jig........not having any luck
but it looks like he ties his line to split ring and
also goes to the jig with the split ring.......am I right?
