    Question Rain Gear question

Just got dry from my trip this morning.Had a pair of Frogg Toggs in the boat just for mornings like this.(Brand New) Stood up and slipped pants on,as soon as I sat down, the crotch ripped out.Stayed a while longer but had to give up.I was wondering if someone might have a suggestion on some other brand of wind and rain gear?Looked at BPS and Cabelas.Too many choices.By the way, They were not biting in the rain.

For the price I haven't found anything nearly as good as Frog Toggs--been using the same set for four years now. Sorry to hear you had issues with yours. If money isn't top priority then the BPS Pro Qualifier Parka is the way to go.

I bought a 10X rainsuit from BP in the early 90's it worked ok a few years but now I don't keep it on the boat for fishing. The Gortex lost its effectivness and when it rains it gets just like wet canvas while fishing in the rain. It works ok now just for my daily walks when it is raining. On the boat while fishing I've been using just the cheap vinyl stuff.

I would sure like to get another Gortex rain suit but don't want to pay $380 for something that will only last a few years. For that price I would expect it to work at the least 15 years before it lost its effectivness if not forever.

I'm curious how the Gortex has worked some of you folks and just how long one should expect it to last. I sure liked the 10x while it was new and really would like to buy another set but am rather gun shy at this time.

They have some stuff that treats the Gortex and makes it work as good as new.
I still have a $400 one (10X Gortex) I bought and it got like that. Wish I could remember the name of it.
If I can find the name of it, I will post it.

I have always had good luck with the Frog Toggs. If I were you I would contact Frog Toggs and tell them what happened. I have never had a pair fail me.
