    Default Ice out

We are finally having ice out up here in Western Massachusettes.I hit a local pond today in my little boat.It was calm and 33 degrees when I hit the water at 7:45 am I fished till 11 am.The rain and hale and snow started about 10 am.But,the fish were hitting.I got 33 Crappies between 8 and 11 inches.8 Yellow Perch 10' biggest,4 6-7in Pond Shiners,7 Gills, 8' biggest and 4 rainbow Trout,10-15".Got soaked .but it was worth it.Hoping the weather is gonna break, supposed to be 60 tomorrow.
    Nice when I went out!

Got 33 of my favorite fish! ( No Monsters though)

4 Nice Trout on the Crappie rigs!

    Awsome Joe.
What a way to start,,, ay?
Maybe I'll get out a little later this week. It was supposed to be about 60 here today. It was nice if you like about 3 inches of rain.

How deep is the pond your fishing, and those are stocked bows?

rub it in why dontcha! LOL.

Glad to hear that ice out has hit mass, means it's gonna be here real soon.
Great way to start the season Joe. If my first outing is only half that good, I'll be a happy-camper.

I did take a drive out to a nearby steelhead stream Sunday - was 13 degrees when we got there at around 7. Spent more time getting ice out of the line-guides than fishing, but at least got to put a hook in the water!

Figured we'd be the only folks crazy (or stupid) enough to try steelhead fishing when it was that cold, turned out there were probably 20 other people just as crazy (stupid) as us... lots of fishing, but no catching going on.

Looks like you guys had a good day on the water and good pictures.

Your comment that "We had winds to day be we stuck it out and it payed off." made me kind of envious of your weather there. Looking at your pictures it looked like the second picture showed the most wind and if I had that kind of wind out here I would consider it an absolute ideal day for fishing something we don't seem to have out here often enough.

It sure seems like you folks back east have alot less winds back there based on how all the pictures look. Not complaining just envious about your weather.:D
