    After reading the virgil Ward thread I stating thinking about the early shows, anybody remember this guy?

    That's Gadabout Gaddis, "The Flying Fisherman"! His may have been the very first TV fishing show.

    Ok your age is showing! We use run home from fishing to watch that on Saturday mornings, think I was about 10 at the time.

    I'm not THAT old! :D I never watched the show. I've just seen some clips from it.

    In the picture, it looks like he's holding a Shakespeare Wonderod, one of the first fiberglass fly rods. People are still fishing with them.
