Went after work for 2 hours Monday. Didn't catch but 5, but 4 of them were serious slabs. Because Wilson is so deep, the water stays cooler than other area lakes; all the fish spawn a little later than other lakes. Water temp on surface was 62, but I can only imagine what it was at 45 feet where I was catching them. Still can't believe they are there that deep, but the pattern is holding up still. The biggest fish was 15 1/2 inches, and full of eggs. Nothing real close to this spot for them to go to to spawn shallow. They may go straight to the bluffs and find a shelf. Will start checking right on the bluffs the next time I go. I think they will pull off to this same area after the spawn and during the summer months.
